On line Be Well Champions Training Module 1- Building Awareness

There are two modules to Part 1 of this training and you need to attend both. Please sign-up for modules in order.
Module 1 will focus on understanding the role of a mental health champions, considering boundaries, and building understanding around mental health.
This half-day training will help Champions to:
- Understand the role of a being a mental health champion – in an organisation or within your community– including boundaries and how to maintain them
- Understand and feel better able to look after your own and those you assists’ mental health and wellbeing
- Be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental distress and illness.
We plan for this to be an interactive and enjoyable experience - in a safe learning environment. We will be giving you information and allowing you to practice skills to listen, engage, and support improvements in mental health.
Your session will be led by Debbie Dixon, a trainer who has worked for 23 years in mental health - she is copied into this email. She will work with you to gain a greater understanding of how a mental health champion can positively influence wellbeing within your communities. And she will coach you through real life examples, as well as exploring how you can build your skills for your ongoing and planned work.
Be Well Hubs
Working with leaders in organisations to develops safe spaces for local people to turn to when they feel their mental health is low or simply to feel more connected with their local community. Find out more about our Be Well Programme.
Part 1 of the training supports Champions to help those suffering from mental ill-health. They will also receive supervisions and report back on key themes and trends from their communities.
